Meche Taboada

Artist

FLAM awoke the leadership that was asleep in me orienting me, among other things, to identify social entrepreneurs of my country in order for them to live the experience of the Conference. It allowed me to recognize myself as an artist, pleasure which I had denied myself. It is good to live something like FLAM, to pursue dreams and believe in them!

Environmental Consultant, training to be an Consultant in Institutional Transformation and in Ontological Coach

…each person comes away with a different very personal learning. In my particular case I become aware of things on different levels. I realised that people (especially those in authority) were not far superior to me and that I was not lower than them. Arriving home, I felt at peace with myself, less frustrated and therefore less likely to attack or criticise... my husband and I were able to reach a deeper level of understanding and companionship.

Carolina Barrantes

Actress, director and dramatist. Teacher of scenic arts

I felt that stereotypes started to fall away, those of what man or woman should be, or “the victim” or “the good”, “the bad”, “the leader”, “the crazy one”, “the slacker”, “the one who tries it on”, “the fool”, etc….. and we were becoming simply human beings: each one with a unique body, mind and soul but at the same time, each one very much like the other, sharing a common essence with all. This has helped me understand that all people deserve respect.

Elizabeth Rodríguez Mendoza

Lawyer

It has been one of the most intense, enlightening and beneficial experiences that I have lived. Since then I truly decided “to take the reigns” of my life, to begin to heal the wounds of the past, to enjoy my femininity to the full, to recognize the positive contribution of masculinity in my life, to live the present and to see the results from a different angle….with much hope and love. From interactions with the other participants, I got to know myself, to be conscious that we live with complex and deep-rooted stereotypes that inevitably lead us to commit errors that we do not always want to admit to.

Mónica Musso

Coach

It is difficult to describe in rational terms what I learnt from FLAM. It is a deep and intense experience since, due to the uniqueness of the conference, the feelings are very present. Today, after various months, I can say that for me it was a revealing starting point and that the journey continues.

Francisco Dongo Soria

Auditor

When I returned home at the end of the Conference, my wife immediately perceived that this experience had brought about a great change in me. Fortunately this has not thinned down with time. It is difficult to describe as it comes from deep within and its impacts have manifested in diverse facets of my life: a greater openness to life in general and understanding of the challenges and difficulties, as well as of the answers that these deserve. I left the mere “accomplishment of tasks” for the satisfaction of doing them or not, alert to the impact that they have in others.

Lawyer

The journey of life can be taken as a process of constant changes and transformations, under an awareness of life. To learn from the experiences connected to different roles is an awakening to that awareness. F.L.A.M Conference is an enriching collective and individual experience, a space to act and observe, with delight and also with pain, it is an opportunity to get started.

... we got to fraternize from the most prominent positions to the persons with less cultural resources as in my case, all this gathering of knowledge has served me and is currently useful in leading my fishing community in Ancon, that I do with such confidence in my actions that I never had before above all I do reach my mates which I feel and live in the daily walk of my work…

Colette Gallay

National Education Teacher – France

This conference has been quite intense, very strong as to think: I am going to fall again, but so moving to go forward with energy, strength, passion, joy, desire to infect others too, to involve myself more. I loved doing this conference with Peruvians, who are so expressive, so different: it was an added wealth.

... it was a unique and different experience, never imagined. The truth is that I did not know what to expect and that I had not expected what came... ...it was a strong experience in which a lot of things came out, as "uncorking champagne!!" which at the end made me feel good with myself, to know that I can express myself without fears and shyness, to become aware of what I am worth, to know wonderful people with opinions and lives so different and we became incredibly united.
